I don’t think it fully has because there are many things a phone still won’t do. For those of us that are not into taking the best picture possible, yes it will definitely take away from sales. But for those that are really into the top of the line a stand-alone camera will always have more features.
I think that at this point everything is cheaper online lol, but u’/re right the past 2 camera’s i got were online purchases.

It depends on the camera you purchase. I think with technology the way it is thinking that it will last up to 8 years and you’ll still be impressed with the quality is a big stretch. Will it still work as well as when you bought it? Most probably. But you’ll probably be wanting something that has all the newest bells and whistles by then. I still have my first cheap digital camera and it works just fine for my needs after 8ish years
Digital cameras are becoming less popular with the improvement in smart phones which produce good photos, but I prefer to use a camera for the important shots, thank you
